The first ever paper florists' member directory launched this week!!!

It’s finally here.

After months of hard work, we have The Paper Florist Member Directory up and running. I know we’ve been talking it up for a while, but here’s a reminder of just how amazing this tool will be for you.

With this directory, it will be super easy for ideal clients to find you. Paper florists from all over the world can post portfolios and connect with event coordinators, commercial businesses, photographers, and on and on. Our industry is growing rapidly, and our goal with this directory is to keep building on that momentum and make it painless for those outside the paper flower world to find us.

The best part about the directory is that it will take a huge burden off your shoulders when it comes to advertising. I’ll do the heavy lifting by advertising the directory on my platforms, as will the cofounder of the directory, Jessie Chui of Crafted to Bloom. We’ll promote the directory on influential podcasts and blogs, like the...

After some sleuthing, she figured out the reason why and let us in on it in our latest episode of Paper Talk. Here’s a clue from Caroline: “The way you present your stuff is going to make the difference between whether someone’s willing to pay $80 for it or $8 for it.”

She also provided extremely useful information about photographing your products to showcase online. Here’s what you’ll learn when you listen to her episode:

  • Tricks and tips to photograph your products in their best light (both figuratively and literally).
  • The best apps and programs...

This week on Paper Talk Podcast, Jessie and Quynh chats with Ceres Lau

Does the idea of submitting your paper flowers to a gallery strike fear in your heart? Or maybe you’ve tried in the past with little success and have become disheartened. We have heard so many paper florists express apprehension about exhibiting their paper flowers as fine art. There’s a lot of unknowns: Where do you begin? How do you deal with rejection? Is your creation really worth it?

We’ve all felt those doubts. But what if we told you that we know the secret behind finding success as an exhibiting artist? The best news is, it’s totally something you can do.

On our latest episode of Paper Talk, we chatted with Ceres Lau, a paper artist in Malaysia, whose incredible work has been exhibited around the world and extensively online. She literally cuts, carves, sculpts, and creates elegant works of art from paper. Needless to say, she understands the way a blank sheet of paper can make the heart sing with possibilities.

You want to make money from your amazing creations, but that leap forward into businesshood often holds many unknowns for those new to the entrepreneurial side of things. One of the biggest worries new business owners face is uncertainty about money. Just how much upfront investment will you need? Are you forgetting any costs?  Luckily, many people have done this before, including us. We’re also lucky that in a field like paper flowers, the startup costs are relatively low.
