Mexico City Floral Crown Workshop
Two days of paper flowers, fresh marigolds, and wearable floral mechanics, set in Roma Norte during Día de los Muertos.
Date: October 31 - November 1, 2026
Location: Roma Norte, CDMX
Cost: $450 USD | 7700 MXN
Build a wearable crown from foundation to finished piece.
Students learn to build a wearable crown of paper florals and fresh flowers, from the very first petal to the final placement. The crown mechanics are based on a modified version of Hitomi Gilliam's foundation technique, taught with her written permission.
Quynh teaches how to make the Hitomi Garden Rose from bud to full bloom. Dani teaches the mechanics and fresh floral integration, including how to work marigolds into a crown for Día de los Muertos. Together the two elements produce one cohesive, wearable result by the end of day two.
Meet Daniela and Quynh:
Daniela and her team were born with the desire to create a space where each person could find their artistic voice and experience working with flowers from a place of connection.
Floral Workshops has been a journey of shared dreams, where we accompany our students in transforming their passion into a tangible art. We specialize in bringing floral design for those seeking a unique creative expression, from beginners to professionals, in an atmosphere of harmony and beauty.
Quynh Nguyen, the artist behind Pink and Posey and author of The New Art of Paper Flowers, will lead you through the delicate process of crafting a lifelike crepe paper garden rose. You will learn how to shape, curl, and layer paper petals, build realistic flower centers, and work with subtle color variations to bring your bloom to life. Quynh will share her favorite tools, materials, and techniques, offering hands-on guidance and encouragement every step of the way. By the end, you will have a stunning handmade flower and the skills to continue your paper floral journey at home.
